It was first released for PlayStation 2 on Octoin North America, with later PlayStation 2 releases in other regions. The game was originally slated to the first quarter of 2002, but was delayed until the third quarter. It is a sequel to Tom and Jerry in Fists of Furry. It was published by NewKidCo in North America and Ubisoft Entertainment in Europe. Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers was developed by VIS Entertainment. It was released for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox starting in 2002 under license from WB Interactive. Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers is a fighting video game developed by VIS Entertainment, published by NewKidCo for PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. It allows up to 4 players to play simultaneously. Twelve destructible environments include a kitchen, beach, snowy winter, cruise ship, junk yard, unstable construction site, Italian market, haunted house, mad scientist lab, western town, castle, Hell, and a boxing arena. Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers is the sequel to the cartoon 3D fighting video game called Tom and Jerry in Fists of Furry for the Nintendo 64 and PC, released in 2000. Costumes are also unlocked, allowing specific characters to have more attire. but this is the first time he is playable. But the Xbox and Gamecube version increase this to 4 players. Characters include Tom, Jerry, Butch, Spike, Tyke, Robot Cat, Eagle, Lion, Nibbles, Monster Jerry, and Duckling, who use more than 75 weapons to beat each other with. In the PS2 Version, only 2 Players can fight each other. New characters are unlocked if the player wins against the computer. The four modes of play are single player, versus, tag team, and team play. The last is Tag Battle, where a player works alone or with a friend to fight two enemies. Another mode is Versus, where a basic one-on-one fight is held. The final boss is either Monster Jerry, a bigger and scary mutated Jerry, or Robot Cat, one of Tom's creations. First is Challenge mode, where the opponents are the enemies of the character chosen from classic Tom and Jerry cartoons. The objective is to defeat an opponent in a set amount of time and rounds. War of the Whiskers is a four player arena(show) fighting game. I currently own it on PS2 but plan on getting the NGC version soon for collecting purposes.Players control the show's characters in combat within arenas themed for specific episodes. The NGC version allows up to 4 players while Xbox and PS2 limit to 2. ![]() Solid 7.5/10, I’d honestly recommend picking it up.Īs my friend always said, if there is a GameCube version of something, always get that instead. Interesting how the menu turns a color I named, “Tom & Jerry Red” when game is 100% completed, as compared it to being blue. The Menu however feels somewhat unpolished, you are given a character card and scroll through characters instead of a character select screen which would’ve been ten times much better, but at least there is costumes for the characters, but still the menu feels bland and unpolished, but the game is still fun. While the character models feel a bit off, the voice acting is very funny and slapstick and matches the theme of the show being just that. It’s not much, but still a fun game, lacks content a little bit but doesn’t ruin it ultimately, there’s unlockables, multiplayer and exclusive stages, an arcade mode, everything.
